Privacy
How LinkShift handles website data, Discord bot configuration, limited service data, and operational logs.
This Privacy Policy applies to the LinkShift website and the LinkShift Discord bot.
Effective date: July 23, 2026. It explains what information is processed, why it is processed, and how you can request changes or deletion.
The website is delivered as a static site and does not require account creation or direct user submission forms to browse.
If you use the light and dark mode switch, your theme preference may be stored in your browser through local storage so the site can remember that choice on later visits.
The hosting provider may also process routine technical data such as IP address, request headers, browser details, and security logs to deliver, cache, and protect the site.
When the bot is used in a Discord server, LinkShift processes the Discord data needed to operate its link reply feature. This can include server IDs, channel IDs, message IDs, command interactions, and message content containing supported music links in configured channels.
The bot stores the service configuration reasonably needed to operate inside a server, such as whether LinkShift is enabled and which channels are selected for monitoring.
The bot may also retain limited service data needed to improve reply accuracy, reduce repeated lookups, and keep the service reliable.
Operational logs may include timestamps, guild IDs, channel IDs, message IDs, source links, generated smart links, and error details for debugging, abuse prevention, and service reliability.
LinkShift uses this information to detect supported links in opted-in channels, generate smart-link replies, keep per-server settings, reduce repeated lookup traffic, troubleshoot failures, and protect the service from misuse.
Data is processed only to the extent reasonably necessary to operate the website and bot.
LinkShift operates through Discord and depends on third-party services when resolving or presenting links. That can include smart-link providers, music services, hosting providers, and the original platform referenced by the user.
The website may also rely on hosting and delivery infrastructure providers. Those services process data under their own terms and privacy policies.
Server configuration data is retained until it is changed, cleared, or removed from the bot's local storage by the operator.
Limited service data used to improve future lookups or reliability may be retained until it is replaced, expires, or is removed by the operator.
Operational logs may be retained for debugging and security purposes for as long as reasonably needed by the operator.
Server administrators can change or clear monitored channels directly through the bot panel in Discord.
If you want to request deletion of stored configuration data or have a privacy question about LinkShift, contact contact@xdp.lol and include enough detail to identify the affected server or deployment.
Reasonable steps are taken to limit stored data to what the system needs and to keep local storage and logs under operator control, but no service can guarantee absolute security.
This Privacy Policy may be updated as the website or bot changes. The effective date above will be updated when material revisions are published.
